Vibration Analysis Category III expert course

Expert Certification

Rotor Dynamics, ODS, and PdM Program Leadership

Category III is the highest CMVA vibration certification level. This program is designed for senior reliability engineers and PdM program leaders who need mastery of advanced analytical techniques including rotor dynamics, operating deflection shape (ODS), frequency response function (FRF) testing, and program strategy.

Delivered by Iraj Roy, CMVA Cat III, who actively uses every technique covered in this program on industrial machinery.

Curriculum

Advanced rotor dynamics — critical speeds, mode shapes, stability
Operating deflection shape (ODS) analysis — methodology and software
Frequency response function (FRF) and modal analysis basics
Transfer path analysis and structural modifications
Reciprocating machinery analysis — compressors, engines
Torsional vibration measurement and analysis
Complex gearbox and rolling element bearing diagnostics
Oil-film bearing instability — oil whirl and oil whip
Advanced balancing — flexible rotors and multi-plane
Machine train analysis and coupled system behaviour
PdM program development — scope, budget, KPIs, CMMS integration
